I've been running
I've been running- well kinda jogging. I went back to what worked for me in the first place. I gave up on the weight lifting for now and I decided to just run. I've been running/jogging regularly again for about a month or so now. I've already gone down 2 belt holes and I only have about 2 to go before I'll be in summer shape.
Not only am I looking better- I'm sleeping better. My heart burn went away. I'm craving healthy food like crazy. I have a ton of energy and I'm getting things done. Man, I forgot how great it feels to not only look like I'm in shape, but to feel like a million bucks too!
P.S.
GO WARRIORS!

I am the guy that first posted about the Weslo 620. Since then, I am now at resistance level 3--which is TONS harder than level 2 (a little more linear progression would have been nice LOL). I am doing this every day for about 25 minutes. It says I have been burning 350 calories every time I do it.
If jogging works for you, that's great. I am 36 years old, and my knees and feet can't take jogging. I would give my left nut to be 25 again when I could run and do anything. Things started going downhill when I reached 30.
I wish I had results like you. I have been doing treadmill and elliptical for 4 months now, and I have not lost weight or lost inches. I am more in shape, but that's all. I haven't really reduced my eating, but I haven't increased either. I don't eat that much anyway, so sometimes when I work out I suffer from low blood sugar and I have to eat emergency peanut butter or banana to avoid passing out!
One would think that I would have lost some weight by now, but I am still obese at 5'8" and 217 pounds.
A little background: I lost 48 pounds when I was in college (22 years old). I was 208 pounds and got down to 160 by starving myself and doing weight training and tennis. I stabilized at about 170 until I was 29 years old and the pounds just started coming back slowly but surely. I am more muscular than I was back then, so some the weight is probably muscle.
For weight training about twice a week I do 60 curls of 50 pounds and 45 pushups.
I'm very discouraged by my lack of progress on losing inches, but I am not going to give up!

*Sorry for the late response. I had finals this week.
Man, that sounds tough. What do you eat when you do eat? Maybe the fact that you don't eat enough makes your body think it's going to starve so it slows your metabolism and preserves fat.
When I lost all the weight, I ate quite a bit. I ate healthier, but I still ate regularly and even snacked. My father had a heart problem and was forced to lose weight (he's in his mid 40s). He went from 220 or so pounds down to 170 just by walking on the treadmill. He increased his intensity quite a bit over that period of time, but he never even ran. He did it by changing his eating habits, but he never starved himself either.
Maybe that's the key to it? I'm not a scientist though, and maybe people lose weight differently. My buddy lost a ton of weight by not eating for days at a time and running- so I don't know.
Your exercise seems to be in order, so it must have something to do with your eating.

Amazing about that heartburn, isn't it? When I was very big (260), I was eating a lot all the time so acid reflux made sense, my stomach was rarely empty. And so, when I lost the weight (down to 190), the fact it went away wasn't a surprise. But since then, my weight has crept up twice (225, 215), and the heartburn comes back until I'm down to 200 or less. so I wonder if it is purely about how much space extra bodyfat takes up, squeezing my stomach, or if I have some kind of mild allergy to gluten or something, which manifests as heartburn. Very interesting.

When I was 310, I had to take heart burn pills every night- no matter what I ate. When I got down to about 220, I could eat even the spiciest foods and not get heart burn. Now that I'm up a couple of pounds, I seem to get it when I eat spicy foods, but otherwise, I don't. I'm slowly creeping back down to where I was before, so we will see if it stays or goes.
